The door suddenly opened and the light flicked on, and Annabel realized that Will was the one who raped her.Even as she fought him off, he was able to overpower and rape her.
As she passed a bedroom, she heard someone say her name and thought that Nick had gotten too drunk and was lost.Afterward she went upstairs to use the restroom. She excused herself and went over to chat with some boys, including one named Nick who was very drunk.Annabel felt overwhelmed (and preoccupied with all her family drama), so she ducked into a small alcove under the stairs. Sophie and Will had been fighting for some reason.She wore a pink suede top she'd just purchased. Annabel remembers the party over the summer that she went to with Sophie and Emily.As she's walking back on the runway she catches Emily's gaze and immediately sees something familiar in her eyes. Annabel goes out onto the stage to walk and sees that Mallory, her mom, and Whitney are all out there watching her.On the evening of the fashion show, Annabel is sitting in the dressing room when she hears some of the other models gossiping about how Emily hooked up with Will Cash in his car-she immediately freezes up.They go through a car wash and Owen leans over and kisses Annabel for the first time.
She says that it would probably only sound good in a car wash-because everything sounds better in a car wash-and Owen demands that she show him this phenomenon.As she's walking out of yet another rehearsal at the mall, Owen surprises Annabel by picking her up in his Land Cruiser and forcing her to listen to some truly atrocious music.Annabel reminds her that she broke her arm when she was eleven (after all, that was in Kristen's film). It's a year-by-year history and Whitney is having a hard time with remembering everything.This is a big deal because it's the first time that Annabel's heard Whitney admit to her eating disorder.Instead she says that she's writing two histories-one of her life, and one of her eating disorder. She's been more social lately with Moira Bell's group, and when Annabel asks her what she's doing, she doesn't snap or get angry. Annabel comes downstairs to find Whitney working at the kitchen table.Annabel has watched the film and liked it, although she doesn't really get it. Kristen will also be in front of a crowd to present her film on the same day.Their mom comes back from her vacation rejuvenated, but unfortunately is all focused on Annabel's upcoming fashion show.
